The European Commission fined Apple €1.8 billion for anti-competitive practices that restrict rival music streaming services

The European Commission fined Apple €1.8 billion for anti-competitive practices that restrict rival music streaming services.

Apple responded by objecting to the decision and accused Spotify of seeking to exploit its services for free and changing the App Store rules in its favor.

Apple also confirmed its intention to comply with the new European Digital Markets Law and hinted at changes in the next version of its operating system, iOS 17.4. The company plans to appeal against the fine decision.
