This means that treatment is long-term or may be a permanent treatment and includes a variety of immunosuppressive medications in addition to cortisone. The treatment aims to alleviate the severity of the symptoms, so that the effectiveness and preference of the types of medications that should be prescribed are evaluated against the risks through consultation between the doctor and the patient together to decide to replace the medications with others or adjust the doses according to the severity of the symptoms.
