Google announced that it has taken new measures to combat low-quality spam content that appears in search engine results. These measures include improvements to the ranking system through “algorithmic boosts” and additional anti-spam policies.

These changes, announced by Google on Tuesday, aim to “reduce inauthentic content in search results” and “continue providing useful content and connecting people to high-quality websites.”

Google's system will improve some of its basic ranking systems to better understand which pages provide useful content to users.

The company will also expand its existing anti-spam systems by implementing new policies to address search ranking manipulation, abuse of expired domains, and abuse of site reputation.

Google noted that this type of content “can confuse or mislead visitors who may have very different expectations” about the type of content found on such sites.
